ASD Names Dwight E. Thomas as Director,
Business Development & Government Relations
ARLINGTON, VA, June 25, 2007 – Advanced Systems Development, Inc. (ASD) has
named Dwight E. Thomas director of Business Development and Government
Relations. He will also serve as the Director of Missile and Space Business
Development. Thomas, who was formerly Deputy Director for Contracts with
the Missile Defense Agency and has amassed a wealth of experience and leadership
skills managing all facets of contracting, military, and technical expertise. He
will report directly to Richard L. Bennett, President and CEO. Bennett
looks to Thomas to lead in ASD’s continued expansion into the missile and space
business.
Thomas recently retired at the rank of Colonel from the U.S. Army after 32
years of service where he was highly decorated. Thomas’ awards include
the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and three Defense Meritorious
Service Medals to name a few. He authored a Strategic Research Project
“Contract Management Strategy for the 21st Century,” an article for the Contracting
Support on the Battlefield, EastSide Edition entitled “Big Business in Bosnia,”
March 1999, and for the Army RD&A Magazine, “Defense Contract Management
Command In The Balkans,” September-October 1999.
Thomas graduated from Hampton Institute, Hampton, VA in 1975 with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Economics and was commissioned into the U.S. Army Ordnance
Corps. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Management from Webster
University and a master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
Thomas has also received many accolades for his significant work in the community
to include: work with the City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, US
Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee,
an active member of various alumni associations, and served as a T-Ball Coach. |
