Senior-Level SMS Engineer

Job Summary :

• In-depth understanding of SMS 2003 configuration, maintenance, monitoring and operations
• Knowledge of scripting using VBScript, WMI and SQL queries
• Experience with SCCM a plus
• Knowledge of AD a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Engineer, maintain and manage the SMS infrastructure (troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, upgrades)
• Actively monitor SMS clients health and perform corrective actions accordingly
• Actively manage SMS daily operations (package releases, distribution, reporting)
• Ensure and maintain acceptable level of package distribution success rates to SMS clients
• Analyze engineering requirements for the PC environment and assist in developing appropriate solutions
• Assist desktop team in troubleshooting PC related issues
• Provide Tier 3 level escalated helpdesk support to clients for SMS related issues

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

As an emerging expert, formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user needs. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis. May have responsibility for quality assurance. As team leader, directs the work of less experienced analysts.

Education/Related Experience:

• Candidate will have at least 3-5 years experience with Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003.
• Requires bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field) or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related experience.
