Information Assurance Analyst, Sr - C&A Team Lead

Job Description

The selected candidate will support the MDA Information Technology Office (ITO) Certification and Accreditation (C&A) efforts, which provides information assurance certification and accreditation for MDA information technology systems and networks IAW DIACAP, DoDD 8500.1,DoDI 8500.2, and appropriate DoD and MDA guidance, procedures, instructions and regulations.  This individual will be responsible for managing the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) team, which includes providing a comprehensive quality security review of requirements documents, project plans, change management requests, configuration documents, C&A documentation, policies, procedures, guideline and other applicable IA and C&A documents. 

 

Tasks

  • Provide guidance throughout the life cycle of information systems and networks under the purview of the MDA Southern Region
  • Develop and implement the security compliance verification and validation programs to ensure system accreditation, as well as ensure certification and accreditation standards and procedures are properly applied.
  • Provide comprehensive quality security review of requirements documents, project plans, change management requests, configuration documents, develops C&A documentation

Skills

  • Certification and Accreditation experience is required.
  • Have a working knowledge in the following areas: 

    • The Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) or the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), as well as DOD 8500 requirements; Information Technology Security (ITSEC); IT risk assessments; DoD and MDA information assurance policies, processes, techniques, and procedures;
    • Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) or Compliance Verification Testing (CVT); System Security Authorization Agreements (SSAA), vulnerability assessments, and Communications Security (COMSEC).  
  • Candidate must obtain a CISSP certification within 6 months of hiring to meet DoDD 8570.1 requirements. 

Education

BS in Computer Science or Information Systems with 6-8 years of hands-on experience.  Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification a plus.

  • Candidate must possess a strong track record of building teams, setting priorities, and leading the team toward established objectives and outcomes. 

    Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Direct experience with MDA in the areas of information technology security is a plus.
  • Must have a team player attitude.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
